JB-
Just curious what number you gave the bucket in that near disasterous grass race (DMR 8/19, 7th). Although the 3 amigos stayed way inside, they must have lost ground going under/over the rail. (-2W ?) Would this produce an artifically fast number? The bucket, (1st time handle) was steadied and bumped a rival near the far turn, but did truly save ground, and I am thinking his number will be better than it looked. I am looking for a big effort next time out. Any thoughts?

The stewards never posted the inquiry sign so that they could at least investigate the incident. What were they thinking? Risky Weather, who just missed getting up for second, was obviously bothered in that he steadied and shifted out on the turn to avoid the bucket on the course. It appears on the replay that two other horses were bothered. According to the DRF article on the incident, one of the stewards said that if a majority of the field (4) had been affected rather than only 3, the race would have been declared a no contest. Go figure.
