Title: Beverly D
Post by: relgan1 on August 09, 2019, 09:14:19 PM
Am I the only one who thinks that career top number on Sister Charlie might set her back? Add in the fact that Johnny V seems married to the 4 path with this horse as well as most others in the last year.

Maybe but what is the worst she runs a 3? Does lasix move  Aiden\'s horse up that much?

Goes in the second race today at Arlington.  Suspect that there may be some local interest here.

Chad\'s other horse is interesting in there. The paceless Monmouth tune-up and now the second off the brief layoff.

Castellano inside with ground saving trip behind a lively pace could get it done if SC regresses a bit off her last.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

Actually was thinking about the Thorograph employee here.  But those lyrics are a real classic.

A few Millions ago I got in an elevator with Barry Irwin. He is usually on hand for Million day. I didn\'t notice Valor having any horses in the big races today. A couple of years ago DiVito was hitting around 45%  with firsters and it was a good size sample too. Have to think this one might be cranked up to give the Team Valor group at AP some excitement today.

Maybe the Nicely Nicely that posts on this site will put a couple of bucks on him just in case.  7-2 early line.

Okay, without doing a search, what\'s the basis for that being the name of the horse?

When I was in Saratoga last week Guys and Dolls was on starting late, I watched it (again) til like 2:30 AM.

Not as good as the Nathan Lane/Faith Prince Broadway production of some years ago, but looking at Jean Simmons makes up the difference. Broadway version was the best live show I ever saw, aside from about 40 Springsteen shows.

Best live show I ever saw was Nikki Benz. Game run from this one to get up and cash for the Board. Thx!!

Agree, the production with Nathan a Lane was awesome. I took my parents, who had previously seen the original with Stubby Kaye and Sam Levene.
Both shows ranked number one in their hearts.

Sire Lemon Drop Kid was named for a story by Damon Runyon, who also wrote the story that was the basis of Guys and Dolls, featuring the character \"Nicely Nicely Johnson\" (Johnson, yes?), who opens the show with \"Fugue for Tinhorns\" and stops it with \"Sit Down You\'re Rocking the Boat\".

40 shows?? Wow!!

Just saw Joe Bonamassa last night in Lincoln, Nebraska. If anyone puts on a better performance than that guy, let me know. Fking incredible. 3rd time I\'ve seen him in a year and going again in Oakland this October. What a gifted guitar player.

OK, if we\'re doing personal greatest hits, when I was a kid, my family went on a vacation to the Bahamas, and at the resort where we were staying, they were filming a movie with Jean Simmons, Shirley Jones, Lloyd Bridges, and Bobby Darin.  Might have been others but those were the ones I got to see.  Seeing Jean Simmons and Shirley Jones was reminiscent of the first time I saw a pro tennis match up close, and couldn\'t believe how fast the ball was moving, and I had played competitive tennis through high school.  Their beauty in person turned my eyes inside out.

I know this started with \"Guys and Dolls\" but I\'m not even going to try to bring this back to racing.  It was fifty years ago and that memory ain\'t gonna die.

A friend of mine , not given to comment on women (generally) told me  he saw Marilyn Monroe in person as a  young kid,  and couldn\'t believe it.

So maybe there\'s some aura  these hollywood stars give off live.

Didn\'t see that one -- but Lane is the beau-ideal modern-day stage N. Detroit.
