The calendar turns to August, it’s Whitney Weekend, no Mary Lou but a strong
TG contingent will be in town, most from Friday-Sunday.
TGJB comes in today, he needs a couple evenings of cocktails at Sperry’s with Andy Serling to sharpen his capping skills. 🤫
Backyard Rooster ðŸ" AKA Roster:
JB corrected me on my typo when I emailed him but my retort was it’s an
Awful Cocky Bunch......
Jerry Brown
Uncle Bill
Frank D.
Fairmount plus a St Louis buddy
Mathcapper (Rocky)
Belmont 3
Trackjohn
Billy M.
Sean D.
Michael D.
Richiebee (if not sent to Seattle by the Mets before today’s 4:00 PM deadline)
The obnoxious poster formerly known as Jimbo plus a buddy.
If any other T-generates are in town? Stop by and say hello.
We are in the backyard, across from the Fourstardave Sports Bar, directly back from the Big Screen next to the Mac/Cheese food truck, all the way back next to the rail of the horse path that goes to the paddock. Look for the NY Giants & Green Bay Packers chairs. Uncle Bill has strategically picked this spot, it has shade, up close view of the horses as they walk to the paddock and a prime spot for 2 legged fillie watching as well!
Day 3 of strong storms, downed trees & power outages today. From tomorrow on, no rain in sight and a beautiful week ahead finally! Limited if any turf today, probably a couple off tomorrow as well. By Friday for the HOF Stakes & Saratoga Cup we should be at least close to firm again?
Rezlegal is on speed dial as is the local bail bondsman...... 😎
Man I have to get up there sounds like a real crappy time.
Enjoy fellas
Frank, don\'t forget to ask Fairmount how he liked the game last night. Let me guess what he is wearing...wish I was able to join. have one for me.
Weather looks quasi-reasonable, but anything over 80 is problematic, and the current cyclical spin we\'re in leaves the region vulnerable to pesky mid-afternoon shower activity, which can play hell with one\'s best-laid plans. Hope to make it sometime this weekend.

Hey FrankD
Was planning to come up this weekend but my wife nixed my plans this weeken. Definitely there closing week, and possibly Alabama Weekend. Hopefully the crew will be there then too.
Hope you’re all hitting them!

That\'s a rather impressive field of T-generates, but in my current form I don\'t
think I would have much impact from the far outside, and am \"declaring\"
myself.
Might re-enter for Alabama weekend, the Saturday/Sunday before Labor Day, or
maybe 2020.
Will probably watch/wager on the proceedings from the cool and comfortable
confines of Living Room Downs or maybe from my new favorite off track haunt,
Bayonnetoga.
Entries for Saturday just came up on DRF. Life is good.
I notice a very disturbing trend.
The ones that are not making it this weekend that I\'m aware of: All have wives....
Note to self: Continue to drink in excess of 25 Bud Lights per live Spa Card to remain an embarrassing, drunken idiot that no one would ever marry.
Life is VERY good richiebee! One of these days we will connect. NC Tony, too bad you didn\'t make it. JohnnyM gonna do it next year he says.
TGAB, Sorry I didn\'t make it for Travers to see you this year. Just kind of how things shook out for me. Hope all is well.
Shanahan....I was NOT happy with last night\'s result. Cubs get it done tonight in STL. Kris Bryant was right: St. Louis Can be BORING LOL....that\'s why I\'m heading to see Uncle Bill\'s Circus tomorrow.
A Fairmount article if interested. I heard the same two weeks ago during my lone live Fairmount appearance this summer about the $50 million planned to be spent by Stiritz/Casino Queen to get this off the ground one day. It is good to dream but I\'ll believe it when I see it.

Bayonnetoga huh? I love that place!
Not a wife issue a kids and a expensive summer issue.
Damn kids cramp my style
Enjoy fellas enjoy

I\'ll e up there this Sat with dad. Where/When is the seminar? Thanks
No seminar, just look for us in the back yard as described.
Number of Bud Light\'s consumed from Thurs through Sat night: 50 to 60. Frank guessed 50 on Sunday when I saw him and I had it slightly higher but just wanted to give a number for those that had an OVER/UNDER bet on this year\'s attempt at 100. Stick with 50 for any banking on a definite number but I think higher. (Realized on the flight home someone from the board bought a Fireball shot for 3 of us at Horseshoe....)
Number of dollars spent on UBER: At least 150
Bars attended: 4. City Tavern, Horseshoe, Gaffney\'s, Dango\'s.
Most meaningful gambling news of the weekend: NYRA doesn\'t allow the bots the same access to the late pick 5 that they have in the other pools. HINT: Put your money here where there is already a low takeout. (Compare yesterday\'s pick 5 to pick 4 and you will see what I\'m saying on takeout and bots front. Maybe Mathcapper can see if there is a significant difference here or if they played/paid out as expected??)
Food in the TG backyard: Hattie\'s Chicken, Woodfire Pizza, Uncle Bill\'s famous bacon grease sandwich and hot dogs (I avoided these two on doctor\'s advice), peaches, ice cream, chips and salsa, crackers and cheese, cinnamon rolls, and on and on and on.
Perfect weather, great camaraderie, terrific handicapping discussions nearly every day and race. No where I would rather be!! (This should be NYRA\'s Tag line for advertising the Spa).
Special thanks to Uncle Bill and Jerry for making this happen as well as FrankD\'s numerous contributions on several fronts. Nice to meet jimbo and see all the familiar faces as well. Honestly too many to name all of you here. As I told Jerry, I look forward to it every year more than anyone knows.
Too many stories and too many laughs to share here other than to say if you haven\'t been by to hang out for a race or two, you are really, really missing out. For those that didn\'t make it b/c of other commitments, you did miss a fantastic time. But a huge thanks to you for keeping me short of asking any of the beautiful women I met upstate for their hand in marriage.
Would Love to make it one more time this meet. Seems unlikely. But we will see in a few days if I change my mind and set something up once I am fully recovered from this weekend\'s adventures.
GET THERE. Once there, if the weather is nice, there\'s nowhere You would rather be.
Amount of fun to be had in the backyard with these guys: LIMITLESS. Nothing lasts forever so soak up the TG backyard fun and enjoy it while you can guys. Five years in a row up there and four spending it with these guys and I\'ll be going as long as they\'ll have me.
Sounds like you had a great experience despite all of the complaints of the changes at Saratoga - it is mostly the people that make that kind of experience.

I can\'t help myself. What, exactly, is a bacon grease sandwich?
Others like Frank or Jerry can possibly correct me IDK but something like this:
First you fry bacon. But per Uncle Bill it has to be nitrate free to meet his health standards LOL.
Then he takes the grease created by the bacon and uses it to \"cook\" or \"fry\" the sandwich bun in.
Then after he has sufficiently fried the bacon and now the bread, he takes the bacon and puts it on the bun.
Last, he puts cheese on top so that it melts while hot, then wraps it in tin foil and sells them in the backyard to the TGenerates in exchange for advice on his pick 5. (handicapping tie in here) For instance, after \"selling\" a few to the TG-ers he asked everyone about the virtues of his p5 single Covfefe to which everyone he asked (including me to be fair) told him not to use Covfefe. UB didn\'t play the p5 b/c of this sage advice he received...and you know how that turned out.
Again....I may have this wrong but this is the story as I recall.
___________________
NOTE: Uncle Bill declared after significant \"abuse\" as he termed it on Saturday about these unhealthy sandwiches that he went healthy and did not fry the bread on Sunday\'s batch.
UB likes them so much he asked Jerry early Sunday if he wanted one as his batch of 3 or 4 had dwindled down. Jerry asked if he had to decide right then. UB disappointingly said \"No, you don\'t have to decide right now.\" Then Uncle Bill reached in his bag and got out a lousy piece of fruit to eat instead.
Okay, this might be the second greatest sandwich ever invented. (Next to the pretzel bun sausage with cheese sandwich at the Pa. Dutch Farmers Market.)
Can you get this delivered via Uber Eats in all fifty states?
You forgot the egg.....
He cuts out the middle of the bread slice and fry’s the egg in the grease pool as well!
Is it organic and gluten free?
Could not make it. Crappy logistics. Have far better chance this pending weekend -- and the weather is supposed to be God-like, with the rain blowing away after Thursday . . . one time . . .

Good to see you again Richie, great time and thx for the heads up on that Pk5 pool info. I checked Sunday\'s results and the Pk5 did indeed pay much higher than expected, more than double what it should have paid in fact, while the Pk4 paid around 35% less than expected.
Could be just a fluke though. Even if the computer guys aren\'t involved in the Pk5 I wouldn\'t expect that significant a difference in value on a day-to-day basis. But I\'ll be checking the results over the rest of the meet, along with the new Empire 6 bet, to see if there are any consistent findings in terms of value offered by either of those bets.
Btw, not sure if you\'re aware but your tagline isn\'t far off from Saratoga\'s actual tagline, and I second your sentiment. The seemingly neverending addition of structures to the surroundings may have diminished the country fair and nostalgic feel for some, but for us lifelong cappers it\'s still and will always be horseplayer heaven.
How do they distinguish between a person wagering or a bot?
