Title: Spa Time
Post by: FrankD. on July 11, 2019, 02:11:29 AM
It’s opening day with a pretty good betting card, especially late. Some real nice price opportunities on the green with 4/5 in Late pick 5 slated for the turf.

Too bad it will be in the high 80’s with very oppressive humidity and pretty much can’t miss severe late afternoon storms with high winds and torrential rains killing the late part of the card. T-storm cells are isolated and spotty but no way I see the Spa get missed late in the card. Let’s add to that with 1-1.5 inches of rain overnight as severe storm activity continues. I’m sure there will be no Friday turf racing.

No worries it moves out, the humidity breaks and Saturday/Sunday will be gorgeous. Just in time for a 5 horse Sanford & 6 horse Diana with 4 Chads....

Don’t worry, the gambling may not be great but you can hang in Klueless Kay’s last piece of his legacy of turning the Spa into Disney World.

In my days as a contractor I did a lot of historical restoration work dealing with pain in the butt historical districts & societies. It was paramount to keep the time period integrity regardless of cost, energy concerns or material innovations. Somehow I don’t recall copper roofs and 40 foot glass windows from the Civil War era?

Uncle Bill said he will take all the backyard yard boys over for the buffet.. 🤫

Noontime third-of-an-inch splash due to hit at lunchtime . . reaching close to an inch, as the day goes on.

39 days to go.

We can only hope that it is unused and eventually demolished.

Frank, I’m surprised you recall the Civil War era at all.

Frankie and Marylou Whitney rumored to be an item during the War Between the States. During his younger days F. Rainbow was a chalk eating weasel, supposedly taking a large position on the Union Army, giving the points.

Saturday at the Spa features an entrant from Marcus Vitali, but NYRA banned Hollendorfer?

You can actually go to Grant\'s last home, 9 miles from Saratoga. It\'s literally about 50 yards from the recreation yard of a medium security prison.

I went to Grant\'s home maybe ten years ago when my girlfriend was writing Moon Books\' New York guide book. I\'ll tell you what, I didn\'t like the way those guys were looking at me.
