Title: Penine Ridge
Post by: Silver Charm on May 30, 2019, 07:09:32 PM
Wont be able to see this one since I\'ll be giving the final speech at my late Fathers Day of Celebration. This field has some quality in it and I add all this without the benefit of any TG #\'s.

Clint Maroone has a pretty quick turn of foot. He is tactical. He is sharp now (or was his last two) and will tough to beat. Seismic Wave has been crying for more ground, gets it here. And gives every impression he is about to start to figure things out. If the light suddenly goes fully on he could be super dangerous at 6-1. Would not be surprised if both of these two go on to become solid Grade One winners. At much different distances...

Silver,

It’s not a good betting race in my opinion but a couple of very interesting handicapping angles.

I’m sure most are shocked that a turf stakes in NY has 2 Chad Brown runners.
Like most turf heats the TG numbers are tight, all but one in the field are within a point of each other.

If you look at the weights, conditions and that the first 3 finishers get an automatic invite to the Belmont Derby it may help explain why there are so many
Chadzacta’s.....

It ain’t all Voodoo & Juice.

Both Chad runners get 4-6 lbs. from the major competition, .8 - 1.2 TG points in an evenly matched field. The top 3 go to the Belmont Derby, DRF article has Demarchelier per Brown in a perfect spot stretching out to 9f here setting up the 10f Belmont Derby.

He is a sheet theorist, be it the wrong ones 🤫, but manages his runners accordingly.
Pharmaceutical & supplement advantages? For sure (IMHO)
Pointing a horse toward a specific objective gaining every possible advantage, while gobbling up purses along the way? None better in the game.

I guess at the risk of being accused of red boarding Frank I took part of your advice. Demarchelier I looked at his replays and figured he would be tough. I stayed with Seismic Wave on a win bet and played him, Demarchelier and Clint in a 3 horse exacta box. With the way I bet its I got back even money on my money.

I did get a chance to review some replays this morninf. Bought the TG for that race only. And while it looked even in the #\'s these two were superior. I\'m not making excuses for the 4lbs had to give. I dont like Joel sitting back with so much to do in a stretch run. All in all doubling you money when your win bet goes down is never a bad thing.
