Title: And Another Video
Post by: hellersorr on May 06, 2019, 01:58:11 PM
The plot thickens.  (Or sickens.)

This video appears - APPEARS - to show WOW causing trouble to the legs of MS just before MS veers out.

And, though the accompanying story doesn\'t mention it, it appears - APPEARS - WOW caused that trouble because he was forced in by the outside horse tightening things up under Flavien Prat.

That outside horse, of course, was . . . COUNTRY HOUSE!

Yep.. MS sure kept it straight.

The most unsavory character in this whole mess is Luis Saez who lied about what happened.  He switched leads on the turn to get a rub on a rushing horse and about wiped out half the field, then lied about being spooked by the crowd noise.

Yep, the horse that went from the 1 path to the 5 path in 3 jumps is the victim.

Servis and Saez.  Couldn\'t have happened to two nicer guys.

Wow. That is an angle that I had not seen before. I originally thought that there should be no DQ. Now I think they took down the wrong horse.

That video and 80 cents will get West a cup of coffee.

I agree. They will not over rule the stewards, even if there is video evidence that their decision was improper. No evidence presented now will make a difference. That’s how bureaucracies work. They will start circling the wagons now.

It exemplifies what so many have been saying from the rip, it’s a 20 horse  field, you don’t take down the CLEAR winner when you can point to numerous examples of the same/similar/worse/not as bad infractions in every single derby ever ran including this one obviously.  It’s all political.  And again, as said in the other thread, this makes Mott and Jock look super bad.

Since there are numerous and happen every single Derby, please give me a few of these examples.

It\'s amazing what the eyes can tell the mind what they see.

Good Luck,

I happen to agree with this and if you take it back a bit further Tyler comes out on Long Range.
You can see WOWs head go up and to the right.
Then he may of ran up into Max a bit?
Kid was loaded and was a bit impatient
A case could be made against him

Thus the reason no foul by Tyler

In real time, during the running of the race, the two gentlemen seated beside me were collectively losing their minds do to the ride given to WOW.  They’d both had him everyway from Sunday and the ranting started going into the far turn.  Interestingly, atleast in light of the outcome, neither were up in arms with MS or Saez, during, after, and after the decision they were of the thought that TG’s ride was what cost #1.

You know how often times you watch who you have money on or your key or whatever, then you go back and watch the race again to expand the horizons.  I don’t know which one I view with more bias (unintentional bias of course) the first, real time where my $ is on the line, or second after my head has been inundated with countless opinions from all over the place?  I was thinking about this to, after making up my mind initially, what amount or is it called preponderance of evidence (not sure ?) is needed to actually change that opinion?  For myself if I’m being honest, it doesn’t happen often. Though you’d think it’d be opposite, the opinion would be more swayed by money than not?

But for the record, I agree with you...

You want to see what “real” stewards do? Take a look at the race replay of the 8th at Parx today. Hopefully they’ll show the head on. The foul claim is between the 4 and the 5 on the far turn. All NASCAR.

I love it how everyone says MS was the clear winner. It didn’t look so clear to me when WOW went from being 2 lengths back to being 3/4 of a length back before he was stopped. I thought the people on this board were smarter than this. But, in consolation, Andy Beyer agrees with you.

It’ll get about as far as Long Range Toddy did.
