No matter how horseplayers feel about the DQ?
This is the coverage in the mainstream press on the sports biggest day.....

And they are refunding bets on the winner.
Why would you do that?
No doubt this is turning into a cluster f*$#
Frank, that’s the good news. Here’s what they really think

Hello Micheal,
Hope all is well in the Cuse.
Lovely piece.
The writer of the USA today article referenced by Frank D - Dan Wolken- touted Maximum Security as a big bet in the Friday edition. Shocking he would have a negative view of the DQ.
The are \"refunding\" $10 if you bet at least $10 to win on Maximum Security, so the maximum you can get back is $10.
No matter how you had it, it’s bad. The stewards really tripped over themselves on the whole “optics†thing.
i had no bet but why did stewards not talk to tyler g.?

Don\'t know but here\'s what Tyler G said to the press and would have said to the Stewards:
“Going into the turn I was sitting behind Luis Saez on Maximum Security,†he said. “I was just kind of following him around there. The horses outside of me looked like they were starting to back up a little bit and they were both longshots. So I wanted to advance my position, move forward a little bit. So, I got outside of Luis. It seemed like his horse kind of switched leads on him and kind of went out. Luis did nothing wrong. Things happen out there. Horses see things and get spooked; there’s a lot going on. At that point, we had just started to make our initial run and I had plenty of horse. Luis’s horse stopped all my momentum, I definitely had to take a good strong hold of him to make sure we didn’t clip heels. He definitely bumped into me a couple of times. It was unfortunate.â€

I read where Mark Casse said (it\'s cited in another thread on this board) that Gaffalione shouldn\'t have been put in that position where he had to make a claim, that it was on the stewards to flash what seemed like an obvious Inquiry (or at least would have been in nearly any other race). Casse said Tyler has to live with these guys every day, or in every big race, and it just wasn\'t easy to knock down another jock in the biggest race of the year simply to move up from 8th to 7th. Flavien Prat, on the other hand, was playing for all the marbles
i get it but the fact that his horse was the first one affected i feel like they should have talked to him
