One of the fastest coming in but the 3yo race spacing bothers me. Just 3 weeks from his Oaklawn race to his SA race and now 4 weeks to the derby. Baffert either thinks he’s that good or something delayed his 3yo debut.
The cancellation of the San Felipe is what delayed his 3yo debut
I have the same concern about Improbable.
Tacitus’ sheet looks a lot like Hofburg’s from last year. Same pattern, same trainer, same sire.
Tax is interesting. Nice 1/2 pt move from his 2yo top. 2 preps. Nice spacing. Good post. Arch on the sire side which yielded good results last year when Instilled Regard moved way forward in the slop.
Not an ideal set up.
Tax is the bomb I\'m using in the exotics. Post could be a blessing or problematic, but if he can find a hole opening up at the right time the lack of ground loss puts him right there to hit the board. With thoro-pattern showing a high probability to at least pair he has to be used.
Certainly like him a lot better than COH who needs a new top to get into the mix.
Santa Anita issues, but he looks dead fit, certainly filled out and to the eye appears no worse for the wear. Visually the best of the BB contingent. Think he grinds out a number the puts him in the mix. Though depending on the slop might move his stable mate up a bit looking at everything that was the AK Derby as a whole. Paddock-Gatex2-Wide every step-never settled, but still ran big. Have to consider he enjoys the off going more than has been discussed publicly.
