Title: KD Distance
Post by: Mstrlucky74 on April 24, 2019, 05:55:33 PM
What\'s the BIGGEST determining factor as to whether or not a horse will be able to get the distance? I believe most horses going into the Derby have only run 1-1/8 max? Is it how or the number they\'ve ran at 1-1/8, they # they ran at 1-1/8 or their pedigree? Thanks

Every horse in the Derby will get the distance. The #\'s and the pedigree determine how fast. Lean towards the #. If he isnt fast his pedigree wont make him faster. But it can make a fast horse slower at a longer distance

Give them extra credit if they can win pressing the pace at 7f or a mile. Even  more impressive if it\'s a stakes race.
No Haikals please. That\'s a pick up the pieces win.

Good Luck,

If the horse ran a decent number overall, and finished with a decent final furlong given how the track was playing that day, he can get another furlong in a KD winning time.

MS ran his last in 12.5, with a good number and raw time.  Even if he slows down, he gets a KD winning time.

Game Winner and Roadster got home in 12.94 on a very dull surface while posting good figs.  They\'ll be fine.

OB and Improbable finished in 12.38 for their last getting good figs.  Don\'t need to see their pedigree.

Etc.
