Title: Downloaded TGraph to my iPhone, and lived...
Post by: JohnTChance on January 20, 2019, 11:49:01 AM
Traveled down from NY to Miami for a week to just watch the clouds go by and rest. Decided not to take my large iPad. Bad move, because I suddenly got this uncontrollable urge to go to Gulfstream.

To get a racing form, I googled DRF sales locations on my phone. But of course, DRF’s info was incorrect. I wasted an hour trying to find a bogus news store. [DRF sucks. I’ve never seen a company with as horrible customer service.] Then, I tried going to my hotel business center to download and print yesterday’s GP pp’s. However when I logged on to the drf.com site, the hotel’s computer red-flagged it as a gambling site, dangerous to humanity! So I couldn’t log on. Ugh. [I finally asked some guys having a business meeting to help me, and we printed them out via his personal laptop. The final indignity was downloading the ThoroGraphs on my iPhone, an experience I don’t recommend and one I hope to never have again.

\" the hotel’s computer red-flagged it as a gambling site\"

seriously?

You should explain to them you won\'t be warming their beds again anytime soon.

It is pretty common, same thing happened to me in Nashville recently on a trip to visit my daughter, could not use business center computer to download TG sheets.
Red-Flagged-gambling.

Well, it\'s somewhat understandable for such a thing to happen in Tennessee (no horse racing or casinos). After all, how can you have freedom of religion if people aren\'t free to impose their religious views on you?

But to have such a thing happen in Florida simply boggles the mind.

Thorographs on the iPhone are fluid and just as easy to read. Have you considered importing the PDF to iBooks? Very easy and accessible, imo.

Yes, I do import the pdf to iBooks (which, over time, forms a library of the sheets I download). However, I typically do this on a 12 inch iPad, which means no squinting.

By the way, I’m at the 1 Hotel in South Beach. It’s terrific... except you can’t print the frigging DRF pps there because they block you. No porn and no DRF.

I\'m sure you can trade all the penny stock frauds your heart desires, and probably crypto too.

 Because, thats investing, not gambling.

You guys could use Windscibe or something like it. A free VPN that you can turn on and off. The Hotel, Hospital or Jail wherever you are won\'t even know what site you\'re trying to reach.

Surely, your phone has a hotspot option, that allows you to avoid the Wifi altogether, yes?  You could try to see if their computer can use that internet connection.

Also, once it\'s on your phone, how do they know what you\'re sending to the printer?  Unless they have no wireless print option.
