Title: Jacobson
Post by: Fairmount1 on January 02, 2019, 07:54:37 PM
\"Racing has changed, and not for the benefit of the horsemen,\" Jacobson said. \"It has become unfeasible to train or race horses in New York. From management to the racing officeâ€"the management all the way to the top is not respecting the smaller horsemen, which are the backbone of the racetrack.\"

Like father, Like son.....From 55 years ago!  Dad, of course, went on to further infamy...Still an interesting read all these years later.

Because nearly two-thirds of all races run are claimers (in which any horse can be claimed for a specified price), and Jacobson sees them as \"the backbone of the business,\" he has concentrated his efforts in this field.
