Title: Arlington Ends Tomorrow
Post by: billk5300s on September 21, 2018, 07:42:20 AM
The Arlington meet ends tomorrow which signals the end of summer for Chicago Horse players.  Arlington Park is by far the most beautiful racing facility in North America but sadly it has a lot going against it.  No help from slots or sports betting and the legislators are doing nothing to help the industry. It’s also very difficult to find good spots to wager on when Rivelli wins 31percent of his starts and has what seems like 2 horses in every race.  Not sure how long the gem that is Arlington Park will be around for everyone to enjoy.  Very sad!

It is very sad, what has happened to Arlington, like Monmouth, not to mention Hialeah, all one time  jewels.  I was only there for three days in the fall of 2002, it was a very nice facility, but to say “by far” the most most beautiful racing facility in N.A., I can’t jump on that bandwagon

I went to Arlington Park once in my life, about 20 years ago. I took my uncle John who was a big horse player in the 60\'s. We had a great day and I came home with a big wad of $100\'s as I stumbled on a nice trifecta after a slow start.  As a So Cal guy, I was struck by the beauty of the facility. It was way nicer than any So. Cal track, even Del Mar. But with the state of Illinois currently stuck on stupid (Democrat super majorities in both houses), I\'m not surprised if it is in decline.
