As Brown is overpowering the Spa Cards with multiple favorites and winners on the big race days, along with spread entries in most of the grass stakes fields, Pletcher is forced to sit and watch it.
16 wins this meet to 33 barely explains the domination. After Brown cleaned housed on the Arlington Million Card, swept 3-4 races on Haskel Day, the shift in the balance of power has been incredibly swift.
I doubt he or anyone in the barn has let up. and I do think his horse in the Travers has a punchers chance at decent odds. 10-1 ML. The negative number in the Wood set him back a little. He made a menacing move in Belmont and flattened. He was lightly trained for the Dandy and yanked way back early in that soft field. The late finish is a little fools gold as the winner got goofy. This looked like a complete prep race.
Way of the world, I suppose. Once upon a time Pletcher supplanted D. Wayne, his old boss.
One win Thursday/Friday for Chad with 8 beaten favorites, at least half of them odds on.
Tourist day tomorrow he won’t have a horse over 2/1 except in races with multiple entries. He has burned a lot of money at this meet for a 30% trainer.....
Pletcher normally wins 15 plus 2yr old races here, this year 3, with 2 of them put up on DQ’s....
One more win than Pletcher over those two days. Brown burns a lot money every day he enters and runs because He loses 70% of the time and everything he sends out is bet. He also runs 1-2 a lot and is 43% over the last two years with JL Ortiz. 18 out of 21 times in the money at this meet with him. He might win a couple tomorrow and to your point the ones who dont win will be heavily bet.
I actually think Brown is a live chance here in Jerkins with
Engage Not the favorite either. Neg 3 and 4 on the others is maybe too fast. Steady line for Engage. Chased winner last after gate trouble and flattened. Will probably try and come a little later this time. Everyone is at the mercy of the front runner who bounced badly after new big top in Florida. Albeit at a route.
Brown one winner and two thirds.
I’m guessing he burnt a lot of cash yesterday

Yes Johnny and well called by Frank D. Brown sucked me in twice. And Pletcher twice. Actually I got shut out on Travers so Pletcher once (Social Paranoia, against one of the worst Brown favorites in history). Pletcher may be gearing his 2YO more for Fall Belmont but the overall decline of his Barn is staggering comsodering the amount of investment he receives annually.
We will post the day after I do it in a few days, there will be much to chew on. God knows what Marley ran.

Not to mention the astounding negative run the Mighty Irad is currently riding to the Pits of Hell . . .
Totally agree TGJB and I stsrted to go there but dropped it. This is ridiculous. The moveups after Barn switches are so blantant that even NYRA can see them. Well ok a little stretch on that one. And where was the $100,000 last second punch on Fresian Fire? WTF!!
Irad about 0-last 30, pretty close without counting.
Chad 1-16 run on favorites
Pletcher horses can’t run a step
The ONLY Certainity in racing any longer is Baffert coming to NY running tops....
Surprised not a peep on this board about Non-Sterawds Inquiry in Abel/Elate stretch run? I guess when you get a red jacket they leave you alone?
I had Abel/Farrell exacta, so no skin in the game.....
BUT:
Abel while being hit constantly left handed, came over 4 paths and slammed Elate turning Jose sideways in the saddle, gets beat a head and not even a Stewards look?
COME ON MAN ðŸ'Ž
100% disagree Frank two wrongs don’t make a right they both came over
Correct call
Looked like she should come down from Hotel room downs.
Andy thought it should stand as you would expect.
Johnny,
Let me explain to you like a 5 yr old!
There are bad, wrong, controversial decisions every day at several race tracks.
The NYRA stewards not even calling for a look at the stretch run is the crime....

Believe they\'re taken BB down but once in So Cal in recent years, in some third-drawer lightweight race . . . but never when it matters, even when justified.
They did look at it no?
What was the inquiry about?

The bodycheck resulting from the deep-stretch convergence of the two.

It\'s not particularly amazing that Servis has been markedly less than bulletproof since the broad public brouhaha over Affaire d\'Fresian Fire.
He is still at 29% this Meet. Not ice cold but where was the last second $100,000 Vote of Confidence unless someone knew the juice wasnt in play!!
I believe McKenzie was taken down earlier this Spring and Baffert promptly threatened to ship to Arkansas. And that fixed that....
Baffy continues to make a mockery of the rules. It hurts to laugh so hard at those in charge. To big to be exposed is what I as told.
Big shout out to TG gang. Always fun, always interesting. Allen thanks for the seminar and your pick in the Sword Dance. Frank! You dug me out of a huge whole with your assertion on Catholic Boy, add in my love for Mendelssohn and that speed favoring super highway led to a nice score. Hope to see some of you in the Ville for the BC.
I have Cashed on this one a few times since she shipped over. I think after yesterday I will say the run is over. I have noticed this about Brown imports before. They run Wired for a few races and then it all dies out of their system. Gran Jete last year was one ans could not have been more dull in the BC. Never to be heard from again.
I think this Baffert filly probably overcooked it. Moved over from Hess and promptly fires a -2 then -1 and probably a -4. This doesnt hold up. Mor Spirirt was nothing after his -7 Met Mile. She probably trains from here to BC. Buyer beware that day...
When I wrote to the State Steward after the Freisen Fire race there were many who thought I was \"conflating\" the issue of Servis as a chemist with the last minute computer betting. While I strongly disagree with that \"separatist\" view with respect to that particular case, we will likely never know since neither the stewards nor NYRA deem this an issue worthy of response, comment or discussion. Shame on NYRA and its Board for their silence.I believe grown ups need to behave like grown ups-the only remedy bettors have-other than the persistent kvetching- is to adjust their betting handle and deliver an economic message to all the authorities involved in racing. The bet is 1-20 that will not happen except through attrition.
Exactly my point they did look at it.
I think Frank\'s point is that there was a jockey\'s objection, which the stewards did look at, but no stewards\' inquiry. Contrast that with the 13th, in which there was both an objection and an inquiry.
Well then I learned soemthing did not know there was a difference?
Always up for a teachable moment.
I hope I get to move on the the 6th grade Frank.
Not Likely Johnny 😎
