Does anyone know why there are 3 sets of tire tracks running perpendicularly across the turf course in the stretch? They’ve been there the whole meet. The horses are hurdling them!
The same reason that the race goes off ten minutes after they post zero MTP.
Is part of the problem with this industry that it just attracts bottom of the barrel management? The flunkies who have just fallen down the executive ladder? Or is it that it is a subsidized industry and therefore too bad to fail?
I am not convinced Mr. Stronach has assembled \"bottom of the barrel management\".
The \"issues\" at GP, (of which post drag and the condition of the turf are but two of many), have been discussed ad infinitum.
Yet, handle, continues to thrive
I go for lunch on Friday afternoons to an OTB to meet up with friends and mess around with a few pooled wagers. We are constantly surprised to hear the very large room get most animated when a GP race is run. Year round racing has helped create a brand. The patrons are loyal followers....GP is their track. I think management deserves their bonus!
Talk about GP has come to a whimpered end. It is exactly what it is. You don\'t like it. Too bad!
There is one way to force management to change. Stop playing GP! I mean stop! Don\'t play, don\'t look..........and during the winter, don\'t play, don\'t look! Things would change then...but that won\'t be happening! Rebates are too good, best winter racing, etc, etc.
Nonsense at GP stops when the handle drops...end of story
Chill IK. Agreed, mine were snide comments written while feeling the fresh sting of a loss. GP is the only track I play and for one reason alone. Value. But why o why can they get those tracks off of the turf course. “Hurdled tracks†is even part of the comment line!
I\'m pretty sure people are allowed to complain about the cartoonishly awful turf course and the fake news post times even if the track is still drawing a good handle. Also, the fact that the track caters to the CRWs and the rebaters to draw a big whale handle is \"smart\" for them (for now) but doesn\'t make them the most friendly to the diehard player.
