Title: One Go
Post by: TGJB on April 21, 2018, 04:41:40 PM
In \'95 I started a relationship with Prestonwood Farm, the Preston brothers. The one I mostly dealt with was Art. First horse I ever bought them was Da Hoss, then in quick succession we had Victory Gallop, Distorted Humor and others-- of 23 horses bought on my recommendation during that period, 13 won stakes for the three brothers. Then Art married someone who thought there were better ways to come up with racehorses, and I didn\'t do any business with them for a long time.

Finally, after about a 15 year hiatus, they bought On Go All Go on my say so. He won a 400k GII as a 3yo (at 35-1, and the answer to your next question is yes), and eventually Art sold him. So 14 for 24 overall.

Prestonwood was sold years ago and became Win Star. Art died a couple of weeks ago, and One Go won for the new owners today.

RIP, Art.

Perhaps you bet him late in that Commonwealth score?  I just watched the YouTube and he was 42-1 going up the backstretch. It\'s as if a big win bet came in just before post time.

My memory says 35-1 in a 7 horse field, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it.

I’d love for you to write a book solely based off your experiences in the game. Screw the handicapping side of it, you have an amazing story to tell.
