Post by: TGJB on April 03, 2018, 03:13:30 PM
Plan right now is to do one for Saturday\'s races, should be up on Thursday. The 3 big 3yo races, a couple of others each from Aqu and Kee.

Just FYI, they are calling for 3-5 inches of snow Sat morning and temps wont climb out of the 30s at KEE.  Will be very unusual conditions for the Bluegrass to be sure, and bound to be super muddy and heavy.

Tread,

You are overstating the gloom and doom in a long range forecast. Lots of rain, some snow flurries, high of 42 on Saturday. Cold, wet and nasty but no building of snowmen on the Keeneland infield.....

Track John get you weather maps out, I’m rusty....

First glance...it\'s a given that it\'s not going to be pleasant in KY over the weekend...I\'m waiting on the latest Euro run...I\'ll update in the am...one note...the winter in NOT over in the Eastern part of the US...at least for the next 10 days!!

For full TG community weather, Bay Area weather has been in the 60\'s.  When it gets a bit breezy, I sometimes put on a sweatshirt.

We are also getting rain later in the week, temperature still in the low/mid 60\'s.

I hope this weather improves.

Follow up...in a word...NASTY... tornado watch today/tomorrow... Saturday...snow beginning 2:00 am thru mid morning... accumulations will vary but  at least 2-5 inches on colder surfaces (ex. grass turf courses!)...

My guess at this point...at best muddy/off the turf...If the GFS model can be believed, they will cancel

As a Miamian, and in spite of my default patriotism, I can say with confidence that you should always go with the euro model.

Thanks for the fake news ! LOL just kidding and acting Presidential again.....

Lexington did not look that gloom and doom to me yesterday....
If there is that kind of accumulation half the state of KY will be shut down, we won’t gave to worry about the races or getting into the track to build that snowman.

Fairmount and crew will get to log lots of bar time.

Final update...3-6\" snow for Lexington Friday evening...Saturday...all time record low temperatures for Lexington possible... temps 25° degrees below normal for the weekend...not sure what this does for racing but it can\'t be good...
