Title: Trainer Fees
Post by: Mstrlucky74 on February 17, 2018, 08:39:01 AM
Hey guys. May potentially claim a horse. I\'ll will be talking to the trainer in the next few days. Just curious to get an idea before hand based on the info below what this could cost me a month. I know some expenses are not foreseeable. I\'m think about $4,500 per month. Yes, I\'m doing this for fun and as a hobby and don\'t expect to make money. Thanks,

The following charges are paid directly to me as trainer

 Day Rate: $85
Purse Earnings: 12% of purse earnings
Stall Rent: charge is equal to that charged by the facility
Blacksmith: charge is equal to that charged by blacksmith
Dentist: charge is equal to that charged by dentist
Feed Supplements: basic supplements are provided, special items are charged dependent on what each horse needs

The following charges are paid directly to the vendor

 Veterinary Bills
 Vanning Charges
 License Fees

Who is the trainer?  Catalano is an $85 a day guy.

Private message if you prefer but I\'m very curious.

4500/month is about right but all depends on where you are running and what percentage the trainer is running at. NY will run you more.  Going with K. Mac will run you more.  But as an average 4500 is about right.  PM me if you would like as I went through this headache in the beginning also when I started claiming.
