Title: Question on info/data/timing
Post by: shanahan on December 02, 2017, 03:35:53 AM
Generally, how much in advance are you collecting the jockey data?  I have yesterday\'s Thoroquick AQU which I downloaded Thursday.  I also downloaded Bris PP at same time.  At the post yesterday for race 9, I\'m looking for Hector Diaz to ride for Weaver (Empire Line).  Much to my chagrin - it\'s Johny V.  No jky changes were posted for the race by the NYRA.  Just curious.

Jockey up data accompany initial overnights assembled by the individual tracks which then send the overnight to the aggregator, Equibase, which processes each overnight to send to the population of customers, us included, including their pps, not used by us. We receive the initial overnight via dedicated data lines, generally two to three days out from racing. We process each overnight to include our proprietary data to prepare for printing, shipping and sale either digitally, online two nights before racing, or in print at our sales venues the day before racing.

Equibase does compile and transmit final overnights w/corrections sent in by the various tracks along the official morning lines. But they don\'t come in until one or two days before racing and we aren\'t informed as to what the corrections are.  Remember we\'re processing virtually every thoroughbred track running, and to keep track of multiples tracks, on multiple days in multiple stages of production is a recipe for chaos. So timing-wise it\'s just impractical to use the final overnights.

Equibase, DRF, Brisnet and other data sources provide updated track entries w/prospective riders and morning lines for free. Please consult these for morning lines and rider and/or equipment changes.
