Gun Runner runs over the top of them. Hasn\'t just beaten the competition last few but has totally crushed fields. I seriously don\'t remember an older horse winning consecutive Grade Ones by 7, 5 and 10!! The distance is a wild card. But if he was only beaten 2 in Dubai on a track he doesn\'t like then it isnt...
Def. not muddy, track was fast all day. Not too sure about the rail that day though, certainly not that typical inside speed biased Meydan dirt track.
Thanks and I didn\'t really remember it looking that way either ie-muddy. But it was like 6 months ago. I do remember telling someone pre race that with the configuration of the course, wide sweeping turns Arrogate would be impossible to beat. He is such a long galloper and needs time to get his run going. Look at the last at Delmar. Speed popping him before he can get going is one way to get him.
We don\'t know if Gun Runner will love the Del Mar surface. We certainly know it isn\'t Arrogates favorite. Speed popping is what Collected did. Now that Diversify is out pace has changed a little. However I\'m as I said before have not seen older horse winning Grade Ones by 5, 7 and 10 consecutively in my lifetime
It definitely was muddy. This is from the emirates racing.com web site

Perhaps I stand corrected. Upon reading up on the american definition of a muddy dirt track I guess one could call the track muddy, if so it was a very moderate muddy race track and trackspeed was very fast all day. That, at least, I should know because I\'ve been making figures for every race in Dubai for 4 or 5 years.
