Title: Gun Runner- BC
Post by: Mc990 on October 11, 2017, 01:51:33 PM
Does he bounce off the big figure even with the additional rest? IMO, I think he does. That being said, I think there is a ton of value in tossing him from the top spot as the favorite. His secondary top just makes him another contender and under the circumstances he\'ll be facing, he\'s no cinch to even run run that.

Question for TGJB- did you consider making last year\'s bc dirt mile any slower? To my amateur eye, it seems like a possibility. GR comes in under similar circumstances as last year...off a top and an east-west ship. Obviously he has more time into it this year and he arrived in Cal earlier.

Don\'t remember the specifics, but the answer is presumably yes, I considered it.

While it is too early for me to project a performance, the price or $ potential for Gunrunner. I do think it is prudent of trainer Assmussen to get out west early and acclimate.

Use the heat to generate as many red blood cells as possible. Trying to remember if he did the same thing in Dubai?

Gun Runner going 1 1/4 is questionable as well
