Title: Another intro question
Post by: dsipes on September 12, 2017, 02:18:10 PM
Generally, how big of a jump in a performance fig suggests a regression in the next race?

How long should you wait after a big fig is run to expect the horse to come back into possible winning form?

Are there any signs after having TG all these years to suggest when a horse may run a big fig or may regress?

I\'m sure most answers to these questions are not easy to answer and cannot be answered in a general manner.  And, class is an issue as well.

Specifics matter-- age, number of starts, time between races, surface (grass horses bounce less). The Thoro-Pattern info on the left of the page should be somewhat helpful to beginners, it\'s not intended for experienced sheet readers.

You might try questions here about specific horses that are entered, before they run.
