Title: Travers Day, Record Performance
Post by: Fairmount1 on August 26, 2017, 05:56:54 PM
Several excellent notes on the Backyard at the Spa.

No one, and I mean No One drank more beer at Saratoga than I did the last 3 days.  These guys can all confirm that fact. Next year, my goal is to drink NONE.....or at least less than this year LOL.

More importantly, I had just an absolute fantastic time all three days.  I am completely 100% worn out and beat now and will recover despite little sleep and too much alcohol the last several days.  The TG guys in the backyard are just phenomenal.  Bob, FrankD, Alan (TGAB), Rocky (Mathcapper), SeanD (and his daughter who put up with us knuckleheads today)......I can say I just had the most terrific racetrack experience one could ever ask for because of their presence and friendship.  Uncle Bill is an absolute saint, givng chairs and snacks to kids and families near us when most people are protective and snobbish about people trying to impede on their territory.  We are all worried about Uncle Bill and his health but I can\'t say enough about what a spectacular guy and experience I had in the backyard both last year and this year because of his efforts.

A huge thanks to everyone I mentioned.  The intelligence of everyone there with respect to handicapping is what makes being there so enjoyable.  The kindness of these guys is unmatched esp among gamblers.  I just can\'t say enough about Bob, Frank, and Uncle Bill.

Ledger says I am down $900 for the weekend and had some shots to be profitable but missed (like keying Forever Unbridled and making zippo).  The experiences I had were worth far more than those losses.  People justify their losses from time to time......but I honestly can\'t imagine $900 more well spent than with these guys the last three days.

I look forward to tomorrow to see these guys one last time until next year.

The only thing that I missed out on was some Harness track action and richiebee not showing up.  Cheers to everyone that made this so worth while and I truly can\'t wait to see all of you next year.

I\'ll send the pictures I have to nicely or TGAB when I return to STL for them to post on Twitter.  I need one winner for tomorrow\'s early races....if anyone has one, send me a pm to get me closer to even!!!

On a handicapping note, if you made it this far, I\'ll give you my likely play of the year. If Carina Mia goes in the BC Filly and Mare Sprint at Del Mar, I will make a MONSTER play and largest bet of my life on her I promise you.  You can thank me after the BC!
