No fig-last winner just won at Saratoga (again). I suggest a system-wide rebate for your consideration.
Best guess is he ran maybe a 6-8 point top just now. Last figure was too slow to make him relevant regardless.
But John, let me know if you want a pure guess next time. I\'ll pick a number.
Run last in 1.22.2 and is too slow for a fig? What about Weather Wiz?
Where does it say too slow for a figure?
Sorry. The figure was too slow to make him relevant. But you didn\'t give him one.
There are situations where there isn\'t enough data to use to make figures for a race, I discussed one such race here a couple of days ago. But whatever he ran that day had nothing to do with what he ran today. That much is clear.
That horse absolutely WAS relevant! A horse second-off-a-layoff (especially from 30% trainer Danny Gargan) can indeed zoom forward! So can the second time starter from Jimmy Jerkens who finished a very close second (and almost won) the race before it! How can one possibly reason that Jerken\'s no-figure entry wasn\'t relevant? So there were two races in a row your users had incomplete set of figures for, both coming out of the race you were unsure about.
I don\'t want you to guess. When I initially complained about this in my post \"About pricing...\" on Feb. 8, I thought I made that clear. We pay the cost for incomplete races. We may have to \"cover\" the unknowns in pick-6/exotic plays. I suggested a rebate to your customers if a no-fig horse wins. But this obviously brings fire to your eyes.
In the end, my final suggestion is to be more forthcoming about the figures you\'re unsure about. We won\'t punch you in the nose if you\'re wrong. Ragozin won\'t gain any points on you. We\'ll still be friends. I\'d welcome a new symbol: The question mark. For example: 8? 10? 12? It even can have a broad range to it: 8? 12? 15? The other day, on Saratoga\'s opening day, you gave me a range for a Maryland shipper in the stake. It was perfectly fine. Give us that more often.
I didn\'t say either horse wasn\'t relevant, and I used the Jerkens horse. I said the missing FIGURE the Gargan horse ran wasn\'t fast enough to make him relevant in the race he was in. Now that some have come back I can go back and take a look at the race, but I won\'t be using the last figure the Gargan horse ran to do so.
I\'m not putting any figures that are guesses down on my sheets. There are figures I\'m not sure off, if I think I can get them close I do put those down, and review them later. And it makes no difference whether a horse missing a figure wins or loses.
And if you want to play the Gargan horse to \"zoom forward\", it doesn\'t matter what that figure was.
On a given day if you see a box and want a range ask me, preferably the day before. If I can I\'ll give you one.
