The Count Fleet:
Tough to fault Whitmore since he became a sprinter; however there are a couple of alternatives. Whitmore will be used defensively just to protect the ticket cost.
Moe Candy and Wabel get weight, are inside and not that far off. Wabel will get a little extra punch due to price, Javier and very hot Brad Cox.
The Northern Spur:
I\'m going to take a stand against the Cali invader going green to brown. Warriors Club and Balandeen are the choices with a saver ticket on Total Tap. Could the Sunland Derby be a key race?
Oaklawn Handicap:
I have to disagree with the ROW.
IMHO: Midnight Storm has too much of a tactical advantage. The 1 1/8 races at Oaklawn have a good run to the turn and often show very fast 1st 1/4\'s. I think MS opens up into the turn and starts the Merry Go Round. Madefromlucky has not won a race in 20 months, I simply do not trust him.
Race 10:
I don\'t like the recent graduate spotting weight as the ML favorite. There are no world beaters in here. Long Station is one of only 2 in the heat to ever beat winners, scratched yesterday out of a much tougher spot and has been knocking on the door. He gets the lions share of the ticket. Sumpter, Twenty and Four & Double Dare fill out the ticket.
Good luck,
Frank D.
PS What is the over under on Shanahan & Fairmounts beer consumption today in Hot Springs??? Have fun boys....
Frank,
I am pretty much in agreement with your ticket. My only additions are Holy Boss in the Count Fleet. He has a top that could win this and a nice jock up today. The 10th is a head scratcher for me. I came up with the same group you did, although I\'m adding the 12. He ran a 6 last year, 3rd off the layoff today and his sire\'s progeny can improve 2pts from 3 to 4. I\'ve been beaten too many times by Calvin riding horses who didn\'t look like they had a chance. Good luck today!
