Ended 2016 on the short end in the American Oaks yesterday when Sassy Little Lila split my 1-7 box. Silver lining was watching Brad Cox\'s filly, after speeding along in a 22 3/5 and 1:10 3/5 on a yielding turf and then still having more to dig in late (all while bearing in and crowding Lady Valeur) get nailed on the line.
