Title: First Gift Under the Tree
Post by: richiebee on December 20, 2016, 01:00:51 PM
Time to offer annual thanks to the TG crew for the six days of free data.

Any truth to the rumor that the Ragozin Christmas gift will be the 2016 Belmont
#s?

Best holiday wishes to T-generates everywhere.

Always a wonderful gesture every Christmas season. Thanks JB and staff.

Paniolo,

Hope you are doing well on the Big Island my friend. Are you still hitting them straight? Marianne and I are headed out to Maui Saturday am.

Hey P-Dub

Wow. Maui. Some guys have all the luck. And a damn good excuse for missing
opening day at Santa Anita Monday.

Since my team was eliminated during pre-season due to poor decision making, I\'m
adopting Raiders and hoping they can make Supe in Houston.

Paul, Just turned 83, played 27 fairway and greens. 2017 is the Year of the Ed. How about meeting at SA or Saratoga.  Sorry you threw Big Isle under the bus for Maui. Happy Holidays and safe travel.

Richie,

We usually go around Thanksgiving, which is right around my birthday (11/27). My wife \"complained\" that we never go on her birthday. I said you\'re the one that sets the dates.....so this year its a Christmas in Maui. And you\'re more than welcome to adopt my team. Been a long time since they\'ve been relevant.

Speaking of luck. Driving to work this afternoon, I ran over something and felt a large knock under my car.  Took me a minute to say, \"hey, you better pull over and check things out\". So I check the front tire and as I do that I smell the strong odor of gasoline. Punctured my fuel tank, the same one I filled right before work. Call the fire dept, have them patch the hole.  Wait 90 minutes for a tow truck.

I call my service guy at Infiniti. Tells me its $1500 or so. I said you\'re kidding, just my luck. He said it could have been worse, it didn\'t spark and ignite a full tank of gas. He said actually, you were pretty lucky. It could have been a lot worse.  My wife said we have money to pay for the repairs, be thankful you weren\'t hurt.

I guess luck is relative.

Paniolo,

Great to hear from you. We are thinking about the Big Island next year, and would love to catch up with you again. 18 holes would be great.  Hope you and everyone here enjoys the Holidays.

Happy Holidays to all of the TG world!!

Whether you showed a plus or a minus at the windows in 2016, we\'re all winners because we all share a passion for the greatest game in the world. And we all made it through another year, not a given and not to be taken for granted especially in this crazy world.

Thank you again TG for the holiday gift. Visions of opening day at Santa Anita dancing through my head will definitely help get me through the next 2 days with the outlaws. That and a few bottles of wine.

Happy Holidays and good luck & most important good health and peace of mind to all,

Joe B

Thanks for the nice sentiments Joe B. Peace of mind what a gift!

Thanks JB. & staff for maintaining your Holiday tradition. Thanks also for prohibiting political discussion. The wisdom of which has become apparent in hindsight.

Terrific posts here.  Looking at Santa Anita\'s TG\'s for free feels too good to be true! Thanks so much!! Hoping FrankD can post a p4 play and see how it matches up with what I have at the moment.  (Anyone have Bret Calhoun stats in California over past 5 years?)

We all have our fortunes and misfortunes that come and go through our life.  Bouncing back from misfortune has been a reality for me the last few years but 2016 was without a doubt the best year I\'ve ever enjoyed in my adult life.  Thanks to all the TG hospitality throughout the year that played an enormous part of the enjoyment!!!

Highlights of the year only related to TG members:
A NYRA calendar in January mailed to me by a TG poster.
Excellent insight from an Oaklawn follower whole meet by private messages on here.
Florida Derby Day with a TG poster
Ark Derby Day in an exclusive area on the infield by a TG Hot Springs (by way of St. Louis) guy
Del Mar up close and personal with unbelievable seats, company, and handicapping acumen as I\'ve written about
A Saratoga trip I\'ll never ever forget in the backyard that I\'ve documented all too well (incl Saratoga Harness!!)
A streak of winners and improved handicapping/wagering last two months from Roger and Frank\'s lessons at Del Mar/Saratoga that made my year a profitable one.

I can\'t thank everyone on here enough.  It was just a spectacular year!!  Best of luck this next week and in 2017.  I would invite you all to Fairmount sometime but trust me when I say I\'ll just meet you at your track.........

Happy Holidays and I hope to see all of you again in 2017 and meet some new people from the board as well!

Merry Christmas & Happy Chanukah to all
T-generates.

Thanks to JB and crew for their yearly gift.
It\'s always a nice touch.

Fair, I\'m glad my tidbits of advice have made your year a profitable one.
I wish I could say the same!!! LOL
We ain\'t dead yet but it would take a nice pick 5 or juicy pick 4 to make up the
years mid 3 zero\'s deficit.
No promises on SA pick 4 play, I\'m back home dealing with a family matter.

Good luck to all,

Frank D.

Fairmont - I cannot find any record of Calhoun starting any horses in Southern California since 2011. I checked at SA, DMR, LRC and even HOL and FPX. No matches came up.

Last time Calhoun started a horse in California was the filly storm Mesa in the san Clemente and the delmar oaks. She won the san Clemente and finished up the track in the oaks
I saw Finley\'s last work at fg. She worked great and has been doing unbelievable but as Bret says \" you find out they are going to bounce at the 1/16 pole.\"
Thanks to tg for the annual Christmas gift
