Title: Breeders Cup Handicapping Challenge: Questions/Thoughts
Post by: skitimber on November 07, 2016, 08:04:06 PM
Just took a look at the leader board:

http://www.breederscup.com/experience/bcbc/leaderboard

I think it has everyone that entered (393 people.)

First, how can anyone have finished with a negative bankroll? (about 27 people - scroll down to bottom!)

Second, anyone have any knowledge of TG users entered:  how many entered and how many finished in the top 80 (those with a bankroll higher than the starting $7500 bankroll)?  This one a tough one and probably impossible to answer accurately, but curious if TG users did better than non-TG users.

Only 20% of the best handicappers(?) finished ahead of the bankroll (above $7500), only 16% with 10k or more (breakeven on investment) and only 44 of 393 made at least $5,000.  Tough game.

the standings you see are tournament points. Each person had to bet a
minimum of 600 on five races Friday, and a minimum of 900 for five
races on Saturday. If u did not you were penalized 1000 points per race.
So I\'m guessing some players blew their entire bankroll with several
races to go resulting in a negative balance. Definitely a tough game,
especially with all the races being difficult.
