When you get the chance take a gander at the replay of the above race, run earlier today. Hard to believe that the winner wasnt DQ\'d. Then again, perfectly believable...
OMG it was brutal. There wasn\'t even an inquiry, right? Really unbelievable.

I am not sure I was watching the right race -- but if I was, it doesn\'t look like there was any contact. Yes, the winner closed up the hole on the horse trying to pass, but I could not see that they ever actually touched. Apologies if I was watching the wrong race. Also, I do not know what the rules are there. There is no question that the horse eventually finishing third was going for a hole and the eventual winner closed that hole extremely abruptly (not safe riding in my book) and the former had to check and go around. Definitely bad racing luck, but I am not sure the officials did a bad job. To me, it totally depends on what the rule is there -- I could see the call going different ways in different jurisdictions depending on what the rule is. The last furlong or so of the race seemed to be very roughly run in general and I could not tell which rail was the inside and which was the outside and most of the horses in the race were definitely not maintaining their paths.
Do they do what they do in the USA? Show a replay and explain their decision? Was there an inquiry or objection?
Again, apologies if I did not find the right race.
I just looked at the replay. There actually was no contact. I guess you\'d call it the lost art of race riding. Looked much worse as it unfolded live. Had I backed the Godolphin runner, I wouldn\'t have been too happy though.he totally intimidated the second horse.
