Title: Frosted
Post by: horsegoer on August 04, 2016, 07:18:47 PM
Neg 8... Is that the fastest T-Graph # ever given? Does this horse back up slightly in the Whitney and then really react next out or does he collapse on the Whitney? Even an 8 point backward move makes him live.

He also has run 8 of his last 10 in negative numbers and the other two don\'t miss negative by much. If by slightly, you mean within 2 points of his last, I say he has little chance of that.

Would be interesting to hear from anybody on track/Maggie as to how he looks.  Personally, I\'m not betting him at all as I disagree with him being live with an 8 point backward move.  4 horses in here, weight adjusted, have tops this year between negative 1.5 and 2.  Now I don\'t believe that all will run that top tomorrow, but with Frosted at 3/5, I will be more inclined to play TAP\'s horse at 8-1 and hope for another forward move saving ground.

No idea if he\'s good enough/if Frosted will regress enough but I can tell you Comfort worked really well last weekend and he will very likely run his best race (or better) tomorrow.

just FWIW

If Frosted ends up with a line that is -8, -6, 0. Will he be a 0-2-X.

Saw a TVG clip and McLaughlin himself says, \"couldn\'t be doing better but obviously he\'s going to react or regress some.\"

Thanks buddy. FFO has been training great. I would be surprised if he doesn\'t run his race but I have been surprised before....

Was tempting to run him in the Whitney, even if we were running for 2nd but the Woodward has been the goal all along so hopefully Sunday is a stepping stone.

Hoping for a big week with FFO on Sunday at the Spa then Beach Patrol in the Secretariat at Arlington.

Good luck!

The horse has already shown a lot of courage coming back from injury. People underestimated that part of it. Similar to a running back who ACL\'ed his knee. It may take some time. Racing needs Star\'s in the game and good stories and good owners. Plenty of that in this Trifecta here. Good Luck tomorrow.

As far as Frosted today no doubt he will be hammered at the windows. Its also an isolated number off a couple of months training at the Goldolphin Training Center. The KM filly on that same Belmont Day ran a Negative 3.5. So things were clicking.

Effinex is a little NUTS at times. But he has a few Neg 2\'s that are as good as Frosted\'s best other #\'s. And he also isn\'t afraid and wont back down from a fight. Does he fire today? Who knows? Does Frosted run anything close to a Negative 8? No!! Probably more like his normal figures. Which are still pretty good.
