Kev,
I couldn\'t see where anyone responded to your question.
The biggest fig I\'ve ever seen was Mineshaft\'s Stephen Foster, a race in which he lost to Perfect Drift while wide throughout and giving the winner 9 lbs.
I believe it was a -5 and change.
If I\'m wrong, we\'ll likely get some responses.

Mineshaft ran a -5.75 going 3w4w in the nose loss.

When it comes to 3YO Smarty has got to be at the top of the list with the paired NEG 3 and changes.

Seems like Midas Eyes got a NEG 2 in the Swale last year, that being about the best number prior to Smarty.

Valid Video -3 in the Carry Back Stks at Calder; has never been the same

Ten Most Wanted -3 in the Travers never returned to anything resembling that fig, but not sure what he got in the National Jockey Club Hcp at Haw. Is on the shelf and likely never to race again.

Point Given a -2.5 in the Belmont was retired two races later.

BTW: Midas Eyes has never been within 2pts of his Swale effort
