Very weak rendition of the 63rd Californian and not sure how you selected your horses, yet it shows some of the issues with figure \'capping. \"The Colonel\" figured lone speed until Victor race rode him and that was not predictable. As for the winner, since being gelded he has been hickory winning his last in hand with an extraordinary late pace.
As for the silly discussion regarding the Baffert sophomore, the gray son of Zensational smoked maidens by a pole in hand in his only juvenile voyage, then whipped older in his comebacker. Assign any number you want too his performances, they are irrelevant, especially with his work for the race, the fastest in a decade or two at the great race place. bbb

Not a red board post, in intention. Just that when older run thru their conditions, especially on dirt, stakes or claimers are the future options.
Many are spent and owners prefer the box seats and the minor awards in the added money events, which can add up, probably realizing little chance for a win outside of the ever dwindling handicap races where they can get some advantage thru poundage assignment.
The California was a good example. My point was/is that these types just run around there. Because horses are herd animals there figures are often inflated/overstated in regards to their competiveness. Trailing time figs should be adjusted by the player, given that there is nothing amiss with the previous numbers assigned. bbb
