I know the Preakness is Saturday, but I am surprised no one has had anything to say regarding the betting public getting shafted and fleeced again Sunday at Belmont. Todd Pletcher sent out a maiden to a 17/1 upset of the first leg of the pick 4, shame on us for missing a Pletcher maiden at 17/1 right?.......except for the fact that the horse was not a maiden and had won 3 of 4 starts in China including a stakes win by open lengths according to sources. Yet those races did not show up in the form and went unreported, allowing the horse to be entered in a maiden race.

The owner obviously knew, as he was bragging about it later when reached for comment. I can\'t imagine Todd did not know either. He doesn\'t just take horses and stuff them in his barn without knowing what he is getting. The real question remains, who is to blame? What action or changes will be made to ensure this does not happen again? So far it doesn\'t sound like anything.

Hey don\'t worry though everyone. Marcus Vitali has plenty in at Pimlico this week to bet on. A guy who has been caught with multiple positives in a different state, denied entries for a few days in MD because he gave up his Florida license, is now allowed to enter and run penalty free, because after all, he is reapplying for his license again in the state where he was initially caught.

You literally can\'t make stuff like this up or find blatant instances of ineptitude on such a large scale going ignored in any other sport. Imagine David Ortiz caught juicing but still is allowed to play in games in a different state unpunished. How about a college basketball game in which some 6\'9 beast of a kid leads his team to victory, yet no one knows it was really a 25 year old professional player from overseas snuck on the court without anyone knowing?

Sorry to be a party pooper in the Triple Crown season of joy, but I have gotten very close to the breaking point regarding this sport, and I don\'t think I am the only one.

While I could go on and on about perceived maidens who were not, it is an odd racing event.

Gives one pause... the expectations where did I get them

1, A level playing field?

2. NYRA competency?

3. DRF provides needed info.

4. The player is the customer?
