Title: At what price?
Post by: Niall on May 19, 2016, 04:32:16 AM
So I think we are all handicapping The Preakness with a sloppy track in mind. Everywhere I read and I do mean everywhere has mentioned \"slop loving\" Exaggerator and how he\'ll move up. As the Gen Pop latches on is there a chance that he\'ll be an overlay and Nyquist less than fair value, but more usable? If so, in what pools? I read most of these posts and genuinely appreciate those that assist me in being a horseplayer... Thanks all and good luck!

Niall,

Value fair or not may be the ultimate assertion. If what you\'re saying happens and Nyquist drifts up to even money (I don\'t think its possible) hordes will be running to the windows to make win bets. The triple crown races are a public tidal wave and the masses are flush after a chalky derby. A huge % of the public has not made a wager since the derby. Rain, slop, mud or snow I cannot imagine a scenario where Nyquist and Exaggerator are out of the triple, unless you can split them with something north of 20/1 that bet is out for me. If you love Exaggerator there my be some exacta value if you toss Nyquist? Not a % play at all but risk vs reward and your individual perception of value may make it worthwhile.

In the horizontal arena you have 2 graded turf stakes in the pick 4 and 5 sequence with an inch or more of rain throughout the day. Good luck.

IMHO and I\'ve stated it all week that Friday is and was before weather the much juicier card. No the pools won\'t be as large as Saturday but big enough. I\'ll leave Saturday to the tourists as I\'m up to my eyeballs in pick 4,5 and 6\'s today
and plotting my tomorrow attack.

Good luck,

Frank D.
