I didn\'t play or even look at anything yesterday, I\'m checking out Belmont results this morning and thought the late pick 4 payout was a misprint.
How can 10/1, 5/2. 7/5, 7/2 pay $5700 in NY?
Looking at the ML\'s Taurine in the fist leg was 3/1 and off at 10/1, Captain Moss
8/1 and off at 5/2, Elysea\'s World 3/1 off 7/5, Heavy Head 15/1 off at 7/2.
One way up of the ML and 2 bet way down,a very unusual occurrence in NY for sure!
The pool was a healthy week day 300K, looks like the robots didn\'t get this one, confirming my previously stated theory that they can\'t reach into what they can\'t see in will pays and probables.
Boscar were the 3 disproportional horses bet accordingly in all the pools?
Add on: The pick 3 ending with Taurine in the 6th paid $299, $35, $3 & $22 ???
Frank D,
Leg 1 (race 6) featured a Kiaran firster, half to Frosted that was way overweight in the pool.Kiaran crew all in,loved the horse yesterday.
In the last leg, a put over the 5,trained at Tampa, was bombed in the win pool from the start but was like 20-1 in the pick 4.
A case where a huge overweight losing and a huge underweight winning in the sequence. To a lesser extent Elysea, 4.80, in the feature, was not 7/5 either in the pick 4.
Mike
The winner of the 7th was the distant 3rd choice in the double will pays (about triple the price of the two ML favorites), yet went off as effectively co-favorite in the race. The winner of the 8th was 2nd or 3rd choice in the p3 will pays, much more in line with his ML.
It was all about the 9th race winner Frank. Whoever bet, kept it a deep dark secret , and bet small and quietly in the horizontals , or maybe not at all?
It hit the fan when the pools opened for the 9th and all that money showed up early and then kept coming. Closed just about right in the exacta pool.
You don\'t see this very often in NY.
Speaking of matters pool related.
Interesting data point for those that think 10 cent supers destroy value.
3rd CD , 9/2 over two longshots, and the $2 TRI came back $8400
The extrapolated (wasn\'t that much in the pool) Super with the 3-1 fave 4th paid:
$ 185,000.

Yep. Using discounted Harville, based on the win odds, the exacta paid ~10% more than expected, the tri about 12% less, and the super over 3x more than the $1 expected payout of $27,700.
