I was a bit off on the date as I must have thought it was yesterday doing the 12-930 shift at the tele theater with an old baseball buddy whom I haven\'t seen in awhile. Rick D. was the poster child for the classic million dollar arm but a 10 cent brain line as he partied his way out of B line to the majors. Oh well.
I had to look at a job in Saratoga this morning so I wandered over to the Oklahoma track as I\'ve not been yet and a cheap breakfast there to soak up some alcohol made sense.
While minding my business reading the form a 20 something Hispanic man came over and said excuse me SeƱor would you look up 2 races for me in your form please?
My standard response to any wanting EVER to look at my form or God forbid T-graph sheets is they F\'in sell them down the street leave me the F alone.
In this case the young man was polite and he actually caught me off guard, so I asked if he was Mexican? Si he replied and I wished him Happy Cinco de Mayo and he thanked me. He continued to tell me that he was an exercise rider for Bill Mott and that there were 2 horses out today that he sat on a lot down at Payson over the winter. I actually had already circled one of them.
So if you believe in Karma?
Harlands Thunder in the Churchill 4th in one of those 4.5f deals that Wesley Ward seems to own everywhere.
Ackeret in the Belmont 3rd whom I actually liked already, used him with Toledo Eddie and Nonna\'s Boy.
Happy Cinco de Mayo and NO Cerveza\'s for FD today!!!!
Frank, you\'re the man. Great story and result, you carried me, too.
Thank you, Frank! Let\'s hope she stays up. And I didn\'t hurt your price, judging by the way the odds kept creeping up. :)
Made a nice pick 4 and I\'m alive in the 5 with 1,5/2,3,6
Take THAT, Donald Trump!
Hey Frank - Thanks for the winner at Churchill. Happy Cinco de Mayo to you too!
Harland at $22....wish I\'d seen this sooner...nicely done Frank!
Nice, Bob.
Frank, this IS the beer holiday, one of two.
Hey Frank,
Looks like you are live for nice numbers.
Good luck!!

St. Pattys and Cinco are great DAYS, but what about Oktoberfest and Mardi Gras?
Stay thirsty my friends.
Wonder if Steve Haskin, in his retrospective coverage of Cannonero, will
discover that our own Frankie Cerveza was rumored to have been at the boozy
three day victory party in Caracas.
Richie,
I was a bit too young and regrettably missed Caracas. However in April of 85 we left Chicago for a 10 day rugby tour to Brazil and somehow I didn\'t get back Wrigley for 6 weeks. There is absolutely no truth to the rumor the my disappearance had anything to do with being introduced to the thong bikini on the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.
