Speaking of works, what did you make of Mor Spirit work today?
Is Baffert thinking there is no pace and getting him in the race earlier?
I read that he added larger cups to the blinkers for this morning\'s work.
In re-watching his races this year, it seemed to me that he tended to break pretty decently and want to get involved early, and Stevens seemed to fight with him a little to get him to settle. I am wondering same as you, maybe Baffert is thinking to let Mor Spirit run a little early/earlier at least.
The splits seem odd. He gets a recorded 5f work in :59 4/5. But his 4f time was in :46 and the gallop out in 1:13 1/5.
So by that, he got that last furlong of the work in :13 4/5, and the gallop out furlong in :13 2/5? He sped up on the gallop out, after dropping anchor big-time?
Either I need to check my math, or someone needs to check their watch.
I hope I am not stepping on his toes, but wouldn\'t think so as he posted the info publicly on Twitter: bstaubs22 says \"Mor Spirit from the 4 1/2 pole in 11.2, 22.2, 46.1 and 59.2 galloped out in 113.1 and 127.1\"
Track was fast, rain tonight but I was more impressed with With the maiden workmate.
That maiden reminded me of crazy legs Hersh(sp)
