Title: Points
Post by: TGJB on April 03, 2016, 10:33:58 AM
Anybody seen standings after the two races yesterday? Roughly what does it figure to take to get in?

20 something won\'t do it this year, more like 30ish
DRF has updated points under Derby news. Half of the top 20 run next weekend, a photo for 3rd or 4th next Saturday could make the difference?

Spiral winner got 50 yesterday but is not nominated.

Seems like top 3 in the SA Derby will get in, then.

I don\'t understand why Swipe went off at only 29-1 in Pool 4.  If, as has been reported, he goes in the Lexington, he rises to only 22 points if he wins.  Admittedly, there will be some leakage as the Derby approaches because colts develop problems or owners decide the cause is hopeless (less so this year because there are fewer standouts?), but 22 points would only put Swipe at number 17 on the current list and 12 horses are going to add at least 20 points in the next 4 preps.  Only six horses now above 22 points are planning to run in one of those races.

BitPlayer,

Imagine an audible. A switch to ARK or Blue Grass. OK timing into the Preakness and could make derby if Exxagerator doesn\'t. Going in the Lexington does not make too much sense in any event. But I\'m not in their shoes.

Of course going in the Lex is only an assumption isn\'t it. Either his pool players know or don\'t know something you do. No betting license required to play the future pools.
