Well, per anyone I\'ve heard this week, no. M&N are simply in another league. i think there are several in here that can run 3rd at least with top 2 at 20-30:1.
Those would be 1,3,7,8. I base this on 3YO sire figs for age/surface/route. I\'ve had good success - some exceptions of course (this is where Uncle Mo drives me crazy) with thes stats if they are under 40 combined, and none can be over 14 individually (hence the Tapit question of another post).
The other thing that confounds me is that the jockey colony is much deeper than what is listed for this race. Odd. It\'s not that they went to Turfway - just Lanerie, and I doubt he\'s in such big demand after the FG debacle.
Of these 4 in particular - 7 comes back after a short rest, going long and just his second outing. Doubtful. of the remaining 3, Castellano is up on # 3 - he is apparently not afraid to compete on a Tiznow, smart, but still has to jump up 4-5 pts to get there. BUT, Tiznow improves 3 pts from 2-3YO, and has improved 5 pts already. If you expect Nyquist to be a no-show, why not these 4 under Mohaymen?
Still not sold on Nyquist at the distance so I\'ll try the 3 and 7 for second. Think Mohaymen is the best of this crop. 3 looks like he figured out this racing thing last time and the 7 ran a good one. The 2 should stick around for third and fourth. If only it were that easy!! Good luck fellas..
Moh does have nice sheet though
